Jul. 5th, 2006 @ 10:20 pm IMPORTANT! driving to swuusi
Hello SWUUSI campers!

If you are planning to drive yourself or ride with a friend to SWUUSI, this email contains some important information that was not included in the packet that was mailed to you regarding SWUUSI.

This spring, the Southwest UU Conference (SWUUC) adopted a new Child and Youth protection policy. This is an important and comprehensive policy that the district has put in place in order to make district events for children and youth safer for everybody.. One section of the policy will impact how youth travel to and from district events -- including SWUUSI. This policy will be in effect this summer at SWUUSI.

Specifically, youth participants who drive themselves to district events (such as SWUUSI)
-Must have a valid drivers license and insurance (of course!).
-May not have passengers in their car
-Must get 8 hours of sleep on the last night (which means that they would miss some of the events on the last night.)
-Need to have specific written permission from their parent or guardian. The form for this is attached to this email.
-One question we often get asked is whether this policy applies to youth who are 18 years old. The answer is YES it does if they are attending a district sponsored youth event.

If there are special circumstances that mean there is a need for an exception to this policy, Jennifer Nichols-Payne is who can make those decisions. Jennifer's phone number is 817-874-4895.

See you soon!

In addition, we have a very very special guest coming to the AR Con to talk about their struggles, experiences, and life in general. I can guarantee you this: it's not what you expect! I hope to see all of you at the AR Con, and at the rally as well!

So, word on the street (the Lake Murray Camp Staff street) is that the dock is back at Group Camp 3!

Not just the simple dock, mind you, but the double length version!

Hey guys,

Just reminiscing about all the great times at SWUUSI, and I realized I never did get a mugbook. Were those ever sent out? I'm here in Massachusetts at Smith College, so maybe that's why I never got one. Does anybody have the website for the online version?
